trip to twins!

there are many ways to twin towers, but the most amusing is the LRT. its awesome and an amazing experience to travel underground. its in the second basement. as we enter the first basement, there is smell of hot bread, roasted coffee beans, caramel, chocolate. the left hand side is the bakery with things that one can't imagine. on the right are shops that sell mostly gadgets and video films etc. walking straight lie the restaurents and cafes. the smell of coffee stirs the senses, infact one may not need to drink a coffee to ge roused from sleep in this section. moving on, there is a huge hall. look skywards, and you will find yourself in one of the largest halls ever. 5 storys high and full of shops and lively activity!

EPL

This one is about the most prestigious leagues of the world, the English Premier League!
This season, the league has seen lot of ups and downs. Many shocks which is topped by Jose Mourinho's resignation, followed by Tottenham's sacking of manager Martin Jol after being the 2nd highest spender last summer. Arsenal proved to be the biggest title contender but the Eduardo mishap really broke their chase. Derby are set to be relegated with the least points ever. Cristiano Ronaldo tops the scorers (that was big shock :D !)
However, the most outstanding team have been (ok since i m a big fan, its got to be this) Chelsea. They held the nerve throughout the season. Even after the shock resignation, the club continued to be consistantly dominant. They excelled in the Champions League and are the biggest contender for title after being just 3 points adrift of the leaders. The most unlikely thing to have happened after the departure of Mourinho. Many players were heartbroken and the team spirit was low. But now they look like taking the double. Even if there was the League Cup debacle and the shameful FA Cup exit, Chelsea still kept their nerves and are fighting to get the Champions League trophy and the Premier League title.
Arsenal, in the beggining caught everyone's attention and remained undefeated for long. But after the Eduardo mishap, they look shattered. After losing Henry the previous summer, they looked like a bunch of collage going children who would hardly know how to play professional football. However, they played very well and were consistantly winning. They topped the table for most of the season. But now, they have a long list of injuries which has let the title hopes down. Their only possible trophy for the season could be the Champions League but they have a hard task to beat Liverpool.
Liverpool landed Fernando Torres during the summer transfer and looked really difficult opposition and the most possible title contenders. But they failed everyone. They had a civil war amongst the owners. Besides, they too were plagued by injuries to key players. They got off to the worst possible Champions League start with no win in first three outings. They lacked consistancy and hence made a mockery of themselves. They were out of League Cup after losing to Chelsea and ended their FA Cup campaign against the giant-killer Barnsley. The feud between the coach and the owner affected their game. Even now, they are reliant only on one man- Torres. Liverpool certainly deserved better position this season but their inconsistancy gave way to their terrible performance. Their only hopes are only of the Champions League glory but they have to face the mighty Arsenal.
Manchester United, the champions of last year. They spent the most. The Tevez saga was the peak at the beginning of the season. They landed Nani, Anderson, Tevez, etc to their already star and overhyped line up. They got off to worst possible start for the season with only 2 points from the first 3 games. They however, became more consistant and finally overtook Arsenal. They defeated teams after scoring in tons. Their main find was Cristiano Ronaldo. They got knocked out of League Cup and FA Cup competition. They topped their group in Champions League and were so far lucky not to face one of the toughest oppositions in Europe. Even they shared the woes of injury. Their so-called caption Garry Neville was never seen. Ryan Giggs seems to have lost steam. Paul Scholes looks to be more of a bench warmer even though he plays really well. Their major force up front is Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez. They seem to have sacked Louis Saha, and Park Ji Sung. They are certain of a berth in the semi-finals of the Champions League but Fergie would keep his fingures crossed as their title rivals Chelsea are evry close and Manchester United have still got to visit the Bridge!
{to be updated about spurs later}!

India- True colours

In the bloody shades of rich culture and heritage and stuff, India is no better than any of the discriminating and nasty countries in the world. Infact we are far worse.
In India they discriminate between caste, creed, religion, sex. India faces far worse problems. If foreigners discriminate between colours, India discriminates between so many things. Women have hardly any liberties (even today). Unless they are educated, they are still the slaves.
Being born as a girl in India is worst thing that can happen to so many people (there are obviously exceptions). Parents wont teach their girl child even if she is talented and aspires to get much better future just because after marriage, girls don't give back the money they earn to their parents (so they think they are wasting money). Many of them are killed as foetus (thanks to sonography).
Then comes the apathy of workers. They are paid low, talked to as if they are not humans.
After all this, I wonder which fool would be proud of our so-called RICH History. Its believed that since we dwell upon stuff like this, we don't progress faster!

Computer Practicals

Ok. I can take it all. Insult, badmouthing, abuse, insult any damn thing. But not being able to get a program incorrect in the freaking board practical. Heck! Heck! Bloody hell! I jumbled it, made it crappy and did a little more bullshite!

Anyways, I'm in no mood to write anything special today. Silly me.

On top of this, the external took my viva in marathi. That git. Made me all the more nervous. But lucky I kept my calm, answered him well. Rest all was smooth. Got a cool output but I want to be brilliant at programming. Will read many many books during my 12th vacation. Toil day and night to master the art. Its my strength and "If I aim for topmost floor, I am gonna give it my all!"

Intelligence over Smartness?? naaaah!

Ok. Now the doubt. Is smartness and intelligence the same or rather is an intelligent person always smart? Well, the answer is no. After observing quite a few people, I admit that smart people need not be all that intelligent but the intelligent may not be smart at all.
Confused? There are a few interesting species who are the centre around all this fuss that I'm making. I used to go to this coaching class for IIT-JEE (the most prestigious and yet the most hyped institue of India. No offence but they try to teach things which no-one would use in their lives such as calculating the degrees of umbrella when its raining and wind is blowing at some angle theta. Thats ridiculous enough!). There were 2 blokes whom I witnessed carefully. Both of them are extremely intelligent. Getting all the answers spot on. Solving math n physics sums in a giffy. But these people lacked the way of the technique of living amongst friends and in social circles. They studied on their birthdays, had trouble hiring rickshaws and did things like wearing pants on their chest. Urgh!
They would not mix up easily and would be the package and a matter of laughter. They lost proper eating habits and had no genuine attraction towards girls and things like that which are "normal" for rest of us. They are not smart but the losers of the world.
Looking at them, I would rather sacrifice a bit of an intelligence but never live a life of a moron who isn't able to tie his shoe-lace just because he is busy thinking about a sum.

P.S. I do not appologise to anyone who is offended by this article as this is the fact.

Nature Through my eyes

As I stood on the hilltop during my vacation to a village, the nature's sight filled me with delight and I took the opportunity to thank my luck that I was able to witness such a delightful sight. The sun was rising slowing and the distant cow-bells were clearly heard. The cool morning breeze swept across my face. The stars had disappeared but the moon was still visible. The sky was filled with variety of birds. The sound of the nearby Brooke was like a soft melody to the ears. The mooing of cow and the distant barks of dogs added to the beauty of nature. As the sun rose, its light turned everything golden. The water from the Brooke dazzled with a golden glow. The sound of rustling of leaves too, was melodious.
I lay there like a jobless kid gazing at the rare sight (cause of the ruddy city life). It was quite a phenomenon. The Meadows were lush green and wet. The coolness of the grass began to diminish as the sun rose. I turned and returned back home to be back at the night.
During the dusk, the sky was blood red. The water of Brooke was giving off its final reflections. There was smoke coming from the houses of the village. I lay on the lush green grass of the meadow and gazed at the sky. The cool breeze accompanied by the sound of insects was also something to marvel at. The sun was sinking in the infinity of the horizon. The light lasted for a while after the sun was gone and then slowly the night life began its reign. The stars began to appear like droplets in the huge dark ocean of the sky. They twinkled and their reflection was clearly seen in the water of the Brooke. The stars seemed to flow down along with the water. The sky was ornamented. The ground was coloured dark. The only light from the moon illuminated the grass which looked grey. The water appeared to be coming out of nowhere in the Brooke and disappeared somewhere into the forest. The trees stood out like giants on the land. Only their outline was visible under the moon-light.
Alas pals, its one of my dreams to achieve at least one day of peace after the hectic life in such a place. I know the description is not extravagant and such places do exist. Only a matter of time of when can it all be achieved!

Why is Christmas more appealing than Diwali to some people?

NOTE: not many would agree. But every one's thoughts are respected so criticism is welcome
Today it enlightened upon me that even if I'm not a Christian by religion, yet I feel really joyous during Christmas. The way the streets are decorated, the malls are lighted, the trees are decorated as well. This festival is celebrated in lap of Nature, the place where everyone wants to rest at least for a while even if he/she may be completely attracted to the ridiculous city life.
Christmas brings smile on every one's face. It has a unique capability to "liven" things up and bring in warmth in a dark cold household. Its the time of the year when everyone comes together. There are drinks and food with the smell of hot chocolate, wine, pan cakes, and other delicacies filling the noses of all. The calm music is soothing and people of all ages share their fond memories and everything is really peaceful.
The pre-festival shopping is also very cool! People purchase gifts and the cool of winter makes the warmth of the house so welcoming and appealing.
Now, Diwali! The pre-festival activities includes things like making food stuffs that will last at least for 15 days. Its mainly frying and more frying. The delicacies are tasty but don't look all that appealing (may be because people are bored of the smell and too much oil). Yet, there is lot of activity. Children buy lots of crackers (reducing day by day though). The Diwali nights
are a lot noisy with smoke filled in the air. The asthmatic patients have a hard time. The weather is generally hot, so it is rather annoying because of all the smell and smoke and noise. The tempers are generally very high. The hot weather makes the house really un-welcoming. And the heat outside makes life miserable. The malls are decorated and few uncivilised people play ear-splitting music.
Its tough to bear Diwali and the priority given to food and things is a bit of a headache. Nevertheless, people enjoy equally. Heck! Both have their goods and bads but given a choice, I would celebrate both so that I can enjoy either of the occasions.

I studied something :D

After long boring afternoon, I studied physics.Woah! After a hectic moring with silly old aromatic compounds ie benzaldehyde and benzoic acid, studying physics was monstrous. But I broke through it! An Achievement. Yippi!

Only a few more months of this ruddy toil and then its party. The thought of it is so damn distracting. But its a good recreation.

Friendship- a lesson learnt

Note: This is not preaching stuff here, its only my feelings penned down so keep your comments with yourself unless you want to comment something on the article!

Heck! I had enough studies! I just thought of thinking about something. Its weird to notice that the people who you think are "your own" people are the ones who may be the biggest cheats. For example, your best friends may not be your true friends. Now the question is how? Well, to know this first assess yourself. If your friends think that you would take their comments on certain things in wrong way and would break apart from them, then you are at loss. This would stop them from pointing your true mistakes. True friends are those who keep telling you where you are wrong and how can you improve. The point is very clear. Not all good friend (good at heart) may be true friends.

2nd type of friends include those who dispose you off at the time of need. They are the ones who pretend to be your friends. Wealth will buy you lot of friends but wealth wont buy you genuine friends. In India, we call such people "Matlabi". You will find these at all corners of the world. They are cheats, frauds, no-good sort of people. One must learn to be rather careful from them.

3rd type of friends are those who would remain there true to you. They will critisie you on the face and try and give you solutions. They are the TRUE friends. They would not betray you at any point of time.

The best example of true friendship is the movie spiderman-2. Harry, when he is drunk in a high society party where Peter is a photographer, slaps insults and does stupid things to Peter. Peter takes it all and forgives Harry in the end. That is the real true friendship!

Recent happenings

After series of lows i struck a high for the first time in days. I'm feeling rather confident about myself. Will talk to that girl on 1st day of our exam. It was bugging to think if I should or I should not and finally I found out that the only person stopping me, was me! How stupid!

Anyway, I managed to get through the bugging chapters of wave optics (finally, phew!). The chapters on ray optics remain(sigh!). I still find the definitions in Polarisation and Huygen's principle (mostly those wried derivations) a bit awkward. I'm not really comfortable with those.

I still have got to do away with benzaldehyde and benzoic acid.

Y'day I was too bored of writing on paper so I did a bit of a graffiti sort of thing on the walls of my house Mom was angry but I escaped. I remembered everything that I wrote, so no problem.

Polymers can test your nerves. They are sick. Hope its over. Next friday at this time, I would be back after writing my 1st board paper. Isn't that exciting [:( , yuck]!

My end of 12th will bring an end to the silly saga of this girl with whom I'm involved right now and hopefully it will be a start of a new day. I'm rather looking forward to it!

1st day at serious study

ok. i'm fed up of this girl who i always think about. she's just too naive, childish and proud (as one of my friends pointed out). she is immature. i just hope she becomes mature in few weeks time cause i wish to share lot of things with her.

anyways today i did a lot of work. swallowed over 50 reactions in aromatic chemistry covering merely aniline and phenol! phew! that was tough!

a friend of mine had a good news to share. he got a nokia N70 finally :)

i think i m going to become a ful-fledged nerd in coming weeks time cause of our great EDUCATION system. never mind that now, sigh!

hope to get a proper sleep cause i'm under a lot of stress these days. have a burden of so many expectations. my today's achievement also includes writing something on internet site with out using any abbreviations and "messengerish" language! what an accomplishment! yippi!
